Breathing new life into this 1940’s home started with, of course, the floor! As the existing floor was Jarrah and filled only a small area of the original home, our client knew she wanted to find a timber that would be both contemporary and still in keeping with the feel of the 1940’s style.
Driftwood is a subtle mix of oak warmth and greys in the wood grain, allowing the interior to feel light and spacious, warm and inviting. A Contemporary palette of greys, soft blues, yellows and reds reveal themselves without dominating. And with the removal of some walls, introduction of others and the clever use of skylights the reimagined spaces are a joy to walk through. This family home will undoubtedly be filled with many years of enjoyment and memories.
